Tried contacts on for the first time today....

I am pretty sure I have the blinkiest eyelids in the world! They had a personal vendetta against keeping open long enough for me to put in or take out the lenses!

Ridiculous!

On the plus though, contacts are awesome!

They are a bit hard to get put in at first, but the eye lady said that once my brain adjusts it should be easier. Just like any other mundane thing!

Lol! Yep, I am the only one out of my two other siblings wearing glasses who can. Which I am glad about. I tell you what I can't wait for! SUNGLASSES! Like real sunglasses! The super expensive prescription sunglasses were always a bit out of my family's budget, so I could never get those. And clip on's only work for certain shapes-plus, their metal rims just serve to reflect the sun into your eyes! So contacts means sun protection now and I CAN'T WAIT!

Oh! It's really not that bad. After a while they just feel like your own eyes. I always had this silly perception that they were made out of glass or plastic or something that could shatter if you got hit in the eye, but much to my amusement and satisfaction, they are just soft, little gel circles with your prescription on them.

Lol! I never really thought that people would hate contacts, I always looked at them as an escape route from some of the difficulties of having glasses.

For example, I can lay my head on my hand without worrying about the arms of my glasses, I can put makeup on and SEE at the same time-I know, that one is amazing! :P- I can wear beautiful, cheap sunglasses that aren't so expensive I sell my first child to a little man who's name I don't know. (Although I have heard he's in the line of gold-making!)

Haha - that Rumplestiltskin play-on....

I can understand being able to rest your head without worrying about the arms of your glasses, but the other two are non-issues for me. I don't wear makeup other than lip gloss, and I have cheap-o sunglasses from Sam's Club that slide over my prescription glasses. They may not be the super cute ones I wish I could wear, but they at least manage not to look like grandma sunglasses and they work. :)

Re that little gold-making man: Hey, if he's like the version in "The Spinner and the Slipper" that might not be such a bad thing! #ShamelessBookRecommendation ;)

Yeah, it's really annoying to have to do that! Well, I get that! I like makeup but I know plenty of people don't care for it. I don't wear makeup a lot, maybe 3-4 times a month? But, usually I am sharing makeup and space with Mom and my sister so being fast is good-so struggling to see is not awesome. Haha, yeah I played around with trying something like that out! Only problem was I got some of those really big glasses frames so finding glasses that fit their specific shape enough was gonna be difficult!

Lol, added it to TBR! :P

Oh, hehe, yeah, the whole thing right next to your eye deal isn't a whole lot of folks favorite sensation! It doesn't bother me as much as some folks, but I get it because that type of stuff has bother Grace in the past!

message 28: by Allison (new)
