So far, the author is almost completely ignoring the mid-1970s. These were transformational years for the school and for those of us who attended in those years. Fine arts, Performing Arts, Open School, Hang On, AFS Domestic Exchanges, West Charlotte students traveling to Boston to model racial harmony, etc. Great things didn't just suddenly reappear in the 1980s.
