Hello! I know it is 2018, but I wanted to share my annual "Thomas's Top Ten Reads" list for 2017. Through the many ups and downs of this year, reading books and sharing reviews with my GR community has been a consistent blessing. Would be curious if you recognize any of these titles, and I'd love to learn your favorite books of this year!

and Hunger. And some of my fiction faves include Exit West, The Vegetarian, The Book of Joan, Difficult Women, and Another Brooklyn (published in 2016). This coming year I have my eye on Pachinko, The Break, Seven Fallen Feathers, and new works by Roxane Gay and Zadie Smith. I've just started a non-fiction piece named Conflict Is Not Abuse which is excellent. Thanks for continuing to inspire us!

So glad to hear you enjoyed both THUG and Evicted! And please do try out Butler as well as the Ng work you haven't read yet, both are stellar. Thank you for your kind note re: grad school. :)

Thank you for these titles! They both seem quite athletic and intriguing, and I've made a mental note to elevate them on my to-read list. :)

Agreed! So glad it's received so much well-deserved hype and attention from the Goodreads community and across the internet. :)

Glad you recognize Salt and the Unseen World and I hope you enjoy Little Fires Everywhere! And, yep, A Little Life is so amazing and I'm glad it's connected us - amazing isn't even the right word to capture it, I'm not sure if there is such a word. I still haven't read a book that has affected me the way A Little Life did. A book in a league of its own.

Aw Mridula, thank you for this compassionate comment and for all the book recommendations, I'll do my best to check them out! Happy reading in 2018. :)

Aw Sandra, thanks for saying that. I've really enjoyed staying updated on each other's reads and reviews. I've moved The Nix and A Gentleman in Moscow up on my to-read list, and omg, I just finished Pachinko tonight and it was one of the best books I've read in awhile - so excited to write my review and spread the good word about this amazing novel.
