why do i feel like 1. Sara and Jago die, 2. Shari ends up in some faraway location and never sees her daughter again, 3. The Sky Key helps Hilal stop Endgame... idk Hilal was smart since the very beginning and if anyone's getting out of this alive it's him and Aisling

You know what I like this book I really do. But I’m tired of the misconception that multilinguals/ bilinguals switch into a different language for the sake of it. Because they can.
We don’t do that.
Only if we’re talking to someone who speaks the same languages as us will you find us switching languages for no reason. And tbh when that acc happens it’s because many words are untranslatable.

Real people transition in their 1st language when they’re feeling somethin they can’t express or forget a word in English or talk to someone from their home country or when they’re tired. Not when they want to say “Sí”. Usually they’d be saying something untranslatable or somethin to hey have no time+patience to translate eg: “pues no sé lo que es todo eso pero ya lo sabes que no lo hice yo“

Mmk so what’s up with clearly monolingual authors trying to write ~realistic, bilingual~ characters and completely and utterly failing?
It’s like?? Have you never met a person that speaks more than two languages well?! Nobody EVER transitions into Spanish to say “Sí”. If you wanna write a realistic character or show off your high school Spanish or whatever tf you trynna do, please do it properly. Real people that
