This is definitely a worthwhile of necessarily lengthy tome. Not perfect, but given the breadth of his sweep, it's inevitable that any reader will find passages less interesting than others.

An enormous book (1024 pages on my Kindle). They haven't quite invaded Poland yet - I doubt I'll finish this before Xmas. But basically, I know almost nothing about WW2
