I have to say this much about Billingsley's book: the prose is often a mess, characterizations are all over the place, and little feels consistent. Nonetheless, the organization of the book's narrative is compelling, and it's really the first novel I've encountered with such a weirdly binge-able formatting. It has led me to think a lot more about literary consumption, and I think that is worthy of note.
