What on earth happened to this author? The previous book in this “universe” was terrific, but this one is falling waaaaay short! The MCs are straight up obnoxious!!

I'm finding it difficult to like Gavin right now! I thought he would be a super sweet guy - refusing to be kept down by trials and tribulations - that would be easy to like and sympathize with! Meh, he's coming across as a rude, prima-dona with a chip on his shoulder where Ben is concerned! I was expecting to want to shake Ben and root for Gavin, but I'm finding it difficult to do so because now I feel sorry for Ben!

And yes, Tina, might be related to Gavin, but BEN is his family, so Gavin has to understand, respect, and accept why Ben feels the way he does and why he’s so suspicious and protective!!

// I don’t like it when characters (or people in general) say “love you” or “love you so much”! I feel like it’s a cop out on the sentiment and power behind “I love you” and what it’s supposed to mean or convey! There is a lot of power in “I” within this context and I feel like it shouldn’t be taken lightly; it needs to be included, otherwise “love you” ends up being more a pleasantry than verbal emotion!!
