It's refreshing to see someone look at the original text afresh, looking at the actual language in context and using the rest of the Bible to inform decisions on the meaning of unsure terms. Such new insights into unsure passages that make sense of the entire book as a whole. Just the Appendices to go but I'm rewriting 1 Peter using the better informed translation. Then I'll read 1 Peter again.

The insights into the translation of the original text brings a whole new understanding to the words on the page. And a much better understanding, at that.
I am enjoying this book and look forward to a series of talks on 1 Peter so I can refer back to this to get more out of the talks.
Little snippets here and there really help bring a greater illumination.
