A lot of mixed messages in this book! It should be called “Portion Control” - NOT “CarbLovers”... This talks a lot about carbs, but when you get down to it, the book tells you your limit should be 1,200 calories per day, it rations your portions and severely limits the quantity of food intake. Carbs or no carbs, with 1,200 calories and tiny portion sizes one can always lose weight - that’s not rocket science!!

Italian: whole wheat dinner roll, salad with low-fat vinaigrette, steamed mussels
(So you go to an italian restaurant and you think mussels?!? Not pasta/pizza but mussels?!?!)

Mexican: corn chips (must not be fried), salsa , black beans
(Im sorry - so what exactly am i eating here?!?)

Honestly these restaurant suggestions were ridiculous! The waiter would laugh at you, let alone the person you went there with!

And let’s not even mention the “Restaurant Cheat Sheet” - are you freakin’ kidding me ?!?!
The selling point is “this is a diet that you can follow even in restaurants! Just order the suggested items” Then it goes on to say:
American: salad with low-fat vinaigrette, steamed broccoli and a steak skewer (what is a steak skewer?! Which restaurant would have this?! And how is this even a restaurant meal?!)

Honestly, if i read about green bananas one more time....
seriously- how (and why???) is an unripened banana used as a selling point here?!? Because yes, every carb lover out there keeps saying “boyyyy, i have suuuuch a craving for sour, green bananas today... and goody, this diet allows me to eat them!!!” Ew!

Ok , so while this book is stressing the fact that you will be able to eat WHATEVER you want , it is also telling you that the diet/meal plan is based on 1,200 calories!!!! This is starvation! This is how I’ve been dieting all my life and - NO , you DO NOT fill up on a piece of whole wheat toast and a green banana!!
