Baratang Sad reality of what is happening in South Africa and elsewhere in the world. One can never understand why would someone subject herself or himself to such sexual invasive ness and human degradation for material possessions. Equally baffling is the insatiable need for sex and the use of sex for self expression and driving points home by “blesses”.

Treasure’s pre-Sandton story is that of many girls, and men who abuse their wives and children, and other men’s children, should be named, shamed, and severely punished. Nonetheless she should be fully accountable for the choices she made in the big city.

Society must continue to teach cultural and religious values, and live by example. It doesn’t help shielding your own from the world while you mess with other people’s children. The evil done will boomerang.

The book was an easy read and not complicated at all, and the setting befitted the storyline. The characters were few and played distinct roles, which are still unbelievable to me, especially the Morgans. I didn’t particularly like anyone in the book, but Treasure’s mom reminded me of my own mom and her story just made we weep. Even though the entire novel somehow lacked depth, the ending was just too rushed and bizarre, One would have expected a very graphic, heart breaking thriller-like ending. Anyway, we thank Ms. Jackie Phamotse for the message in the book.
