Using invisibility and melting through solids, she escapes. finds her dad. Candy, Dr. H's daughter surprisingly helps her escape from their room. She gets pushed out of the mountain through a sealed door.

Odd comment by Willow. She uses the word "audacity"...which doesn't fit the sentence. Her friend quickly stands up and grabs Willow's hands. that isn't being audacious. Just unusual for shy C.

Willow's eyes are changing. After finding another hidden cave, with a warmer pool of water, in which she and alec swim in, her eye color is noticed. The next morning she feels weird. While in class she hears voices. She soon realizes that only she is hearing them... what others are thinking, even the teacher. Blazing headache... get Alec.

Interesting. Willow said there was no fiction or interesting non-fiction books in the library, but there were soap opera reruns on the T.V. That doesn't make any sense. Literature in a new society is important...Soaps are not!

Willow, Connor, Clair and Alex are bored on their day off, so they decide to explore the sewer area of the mountain, after their hopes of bowling is kaput, because of the wait. The Library holds nothing interesting either. They break into the storage area on a lower floor to get gear and flashlights.
