The expansion of both stories is absorbing, even though the cast of characters is starting to get unwieldy. (Elliott does a good job reminding the read who each is but it gets cumbersome.) Can't wait to see more of the alien culture.

Finished Book 3. Still more curious about the larger conflict, but it's nice to finally start to see why humans want to rebel.

I sort of hate both Charles & Ilya at this point. Which is weird because it's almost like Ilya is out of character from the last book. Plus, Tess comes across as an idiot if she hadn't thought this through sheet several YEARS of preparation. Not really enjoying the larger cast of characters & viewpoints, either. It's hard to tell the actors apart.
