Oh God, this is getting even more amazing! Seriously I haven't moved from my spot on the couch for the past three hours because I simply can't put it down. Titus just shocked me - what he done just shocked me but what stunned me was he was in fact a Red. I loved Cassius and Darrow's friendship until he learned the truth about his brother's death and tried to kill Darrow. Jackal is ominous and Apollo's been taken down

The story is fleshing out. Really felt sorry and horrified for Darrow as he had to witness his wife's hanging and the song she sung was haunting indeed. It seems he has a purpose for vengeance and the Sons of Ares helps him realise this. Darrow's transform action into a Gold is very painful and gruelling and Matteo's lessons were interesting. The Academy section is brutal and good and he goes through quite a lot.

What a fantastic start! It's so good to be part of Darrow's world again and I still have to remember that he's younger as this story is part of his origins. I really love the world building in this as well as the class system. Eo is such an interesting character and I love how Darrow is so devoted to her. She's everything so pure and wonderful and I like how she wants purpose in Darrow's life. Wonder what will happen

My 6th random pick of the TBR Jar Challenge! Last year I had the pleasure of reading the second book in the series (I never realised it was a series at a time) and I was just so very impressed. It made me buy the first and third book of the series to be honest. Now I can finally learn of Darrow's history and also his marriage too. It's gonna be fantastic!
