Chapter 2 ranges far and wide over the pseudoscience, fake history, conspiracy theories, and occult ramblings that include or allude to Atlantis/Lemuria. There are quite a few, increasing in the wake of Darwin and Lyell, and they relentlessly steal from each other (especially the Theosophists). And somehow it always resembles kitschy pop culture of the time.... Hmmm....

Chapter 1, or "Plato made Atlantis up, and everyone who quoted him in Antiquity and the Middle Ages is booooooring." Not sure about the historical objectivity here, but De Camp isn't exactly writing a history, and Atlantis is a pretty silly myth, so I'll just strap in and enjoy the snark.
