I’m reading this as part of an exploration of non-Thomas Malory stories about King Arthur. Actually, if I understand correctly, this was one of Mallory’s sources. It reads and feels much more modern than Malory, and not just because of the language.

Translated from the medieval French prose cycle. I believe this is one of the sources used by Thomas Malory. The translation is a fine, fluent one, and the story is evolving with a horrible inevitability.

I’m enjoying this. The translation is graceful, and the story itself is nicely laid out: it hangs together a bit better than Mallory’s retelling. I assume this is the French prose tale that Malory used as his main source, though I haven’t read the introduction yet. (I usually save those for after the fact.)
