This is the hardest book I've ever read in terms of content. I feel like I'm being emotionally tormented but I can't stop because I just want there to be a happy ending (and it's also beautifully written)

I knew what was coming. I prepared myself for it. And yet, it still bludgeons me with a grief I was unprepared for.
Once you approach the end of the chapter "The Happy Years", do yourself a favor and read in private. I have done the hard work for you, and now all the students at the Danish Technical University have seen me ugly cry in the middle of their library.
