Wow, this reads fast (I would have loved books like that for French class when I was at school instead of the boring textbook stories we had to read). I recently read the translation (which actually won an award) but the original French story is so much better (the translation feels a bit forced at times, but with the original, you really feel like Noemie is talking to you and I get her as well, she's very like me).
