Having read this at least 2 decades ago, possibly 3- I had to follow Elkhorn Tavern with another glance. Reading slowly to this point, I might speed through the remaining. Jones' writing is wonderful minutia and historical period 5 star for the mood of the times, 5 varieties of nation explosions and Roman's (good intent) eyes. I have a grandson named Roman who is 18- and is off for wide spaces as well.
