I want to read this but I think it would mess with me too much. So sad

So far, there was one section wherein one of the characters named Pete starts saying "I'm tired." He then proceeds to knock out another character, then says, "I was born dead." Afterwards he goes into a tirade about how difficult his life has been right before being injected with a sedative. His words cut to the heart, but it also pulled me completely into the story. The narrative has played on my emotions a few times thus far, but then again, this is probably one of the main reasons I've so thoroughly enjoyed it.
