i'm not sure what i think about this book - i found a lot of it very upsetting. particularly the violence against dogs which even if the dogs weren't real (or were they?) was too much for me. (i normally refuse to read any book where a dog gets hurt). it was an interesting literary read though - especially the parts playing with fairy tales
