Brenna added a status update
I am forty years old. I have been a reader for most of that time. I know better than to read anywhere near bedtime. Yet here I am, having just finished a book, at nearly one in the morning.

Brenna I had become pretty negligent with my reading last year. I have several downstairs that are “real” books, basically just decoration in my room, as I have not read more than a chapter in most of them.

Lexidh Solstad I have a book collection, and then there is the Kindle, that I fear is starting to run out of space. It is in the bedroom, so you can imagine... I can't really NOT use it, since it helps me sleep. Laying there, trying to sleep, that's not something that works for me. I need to keep my brain busy until the last possible moment, having brainpower left over to think about pain while trying to sleep is a sure way to get no sleep at all! I find it more constructive and much less boring to not sleep while reading than not sleep while thinking about how I suffer.

Brenna See, it makes me stay awake, I go to sleep easier playing something mindless like merge dragons. Only in the camp mode though.

Lexidh Solstad That is more normal. My brain is like "WE DO STUFF OR WE FEEL LIKE CRAP!". I'm glad my Kindle doesn't bruise my face when I drop it ;P

Brenna If I do stuff, my brain wont stop chattering endlessly about everything that has gone wrong in my life. I have to distract it to pass out.

Lexidh Solstad Yeah, it needs something care free and easy, unlike mine, that needs some heavy shit like a horrible murder or sci-fi to be able to turn off. The better the book, the easier I fall asleep. THAT is annoying ;P Sometimes you really do want to read until 1AM, not just 5 minutes and zonk out before your bed is warm.
