A quiz question: who has ruled Libya over the past three thousand years?
Answer: Who hasn't.
The author's covering the pre-Italian era, and we have the Romans, the Greeks (various factions), the Vandals, the Berbers, the Arabs (a dozen different cailphates), the Ottomans, various European powers, even the Americans took a shot. Blimey.
