Hands Down..this is the one of the best YA Urban Fantasy's first books.
Yes I've been bored of the middle of it.. the whole insta-love. But the flash back scene which took the last 4th quarter of the novel Justified it.. it's not Insta-Love at all (yet I still feel the middle was unnecessary long)
The story and history of this other universe is really fantastic..and the whole idea of Magic Wishes Vs. Hope.

اعادة قراءة موفقة للغاية
الجزء الرابع به فلاش باك في ذلك العالم الفانتازي الخيالي ومع ذلك اعجبني بالرغم من اعجابي اكثر بالفانتازيا الحضرية وليس العالية لكن الجزء جاء ممتعا

Well, it's 4 parts then, third is kinda short part where there's something like incarnation about Karou which suppose to explain the reason behind this insta-love.

Aside of the insta love... The world is really rich... The parallel world is so similar to what Israel does in Gaza. The brutal war and injustice and prejudice.
The story has like three parts. The second ends with a real good cliffhanger.

يعني لازم كان فعلا اعمل إعادة القراءة دي عشان اكمل الثلاثية

إعادة قراءة سريعة لتلك الرواية الينايرية في تلك الأجواء الينايرية الباردة... لننتقل لبراغ مرة أخري لكي استكمل باقي السلسلة بعد حوالي خمس سنوات منذ أن قراءت جزءها الاول فقط

Short but could have made its 50 pages in 20 only.
Then Part four... with the Past Life of Karou.
It starts bit slow but then everything back to the awesomeness of the beginning of the novel.. with the revealing of the Magic of Teeth and why it's important to Brimstone, and the origins of the Chimaera creatures... and their world.

First 130 pages were about the world (both real & fantastical) been built, too much of adventures in many countries, daily life of Karou & her friend, her past..and more.
Then next 130 pages are happening in ONE SINGLE DAY..Just the insta love between Karou & Akiva..prolonged and raised questions and almost no answers. :(
Only last 5 are okay.

All the Gateways to 'Elsewhere' are ashes and melted , and the second part starts 3 months later...with Karou is a real 'badass' "onscreen" this time not just in a line referring to the past accident in St. Petersburg.
She hunts for wishes... in "hope" to find another portal to her 'Elsewhere'..
God, I love how fast it is...BUT dreading now the looming Insta-Love..

Oh God.... is this the same author of Strange the Dreamer?
The story is moving so fast... the atmosphere and the strange world is amazing and inspiring..
The Doors.. the Wishes..the Teeth..Karou's back story -her self-aware one at least- .. her friend.. and Brimstone ; Rumplestiltskin meets Baphomet..
And then the Angels who wants to erase this evil..
But it's your perspective is what tells what's evil & what's not.

I was dreading starting this novel...
You see, I've bought the box set already last winter, but in Summer I bought and read first (Strange the Dreamer) for the same author ...
And God ,that was awful experience for someone who hate meaningless forced poetic writing style and rant and just strange atmospheric high fantasy..
Well, I'm so glad that DoSaB is 100% different -so far-.
To the point & seems Urban Fantasy.
