I’ve been wondering about this for a while now and I mean no ill will or disrespect. And excuse me if I sound like I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about because...well, I don’t. Indie Authors. Why do you/they choose to remain independent instead of having a publisher? Or at the very least and editor. I get that part is obviously about $$ but what else?

Nicole Notable, Shari. I just wish then that the author would at the vet minimum have an editor. I hate grammatical errors.

Charity B. I agree with the editor part. That's detrimental, but I chose to go to the indie without even attempting mainstream publishing because I wanted complete control of my art. Cover, story, brand ect... I love this question though, and now and I'm curious about what other authors say

Nicole Thanks for your input, Charity. I’m currently reading a book that has a few notable grammatical errors but I find myself not caring because I love it so much. I don’t want to betray my beliefs/triggers/deal breakers while reading but in this instance I simply don’t care. Which is partly why I LOVE reading.
