She wanted to fix it into her mind so she could call it up on nights when she was alone and wanted to look back over this experience, assure herself it wasn't all a dream. That she had done it. That she had taken her soldier, and let him have her, that she had laid aside her fear and her manners and all she was supposed to do, and instead did what she wanted to do.

The kiss went on and on. It had never been like this for her. He pressed her back against the wall and lifted her slightly. She ran her fingers up and down his taut muscles, feeling the strength there, the wonderful, protective nature of it. Her mind screamed at her and she told it to shut up, take a hike, fuck off. She was doing this and she refused to feel bad about it.

“Charlene, can you come up here?” He extended a hand towards her and Charlene’s eyes widened. She hadn’t volunteered. Her heart beat madly and nervous wings filled her stomach. Why her? “Thank you,” Relic told her, grasping her hand and turning her around to face the class. She couldn’t think. Could barely stay standing.

Charlene’s attention was pulled to one corner of the open room, where a person had just entered from a hidden door. Her breath caught in her throat as she saw a man who made her mouth dry instantly and her heart beat a terrified rhythm in her chest. He was scary. And beautiful.
