This whole, "I'm trying to write the next Nobel Prize in Literature" is killing me. This is supposed to be a YA book. Why is the whole thing filled with figurative language and metaphors. It takes 6 or 7 sentences to even find an actual sentence that has something to do with the plot. And all of the inner monologues make me want to get a rusty nail and stab myself in the eye. Just do something!
