I just finished reading "The Secret Life of Bees," and thought this would be completely different subject matter. Although this is clearly not fiction as Kidd's book is, both deal with a young girl whose mother died when she was very young, who is accused of killing her, and a father who is emotionally distant..
Not sure how this strange selection of books happened.
