Just can’t finish this book. The action is so slow!

Not sure what to make of this book. I’ve found it very slow and uneventful, but I’ve read so much of it, I feel like I should finish.
The plot reminds me of ‘Phantoms’ by Koontz. Anyone else found that?

Loving Evie at the moment. Lots of mystery surrounding her. Is it wrong to like the baddie?
