oh hateful short story, that inspires me to want to write and reminds me that I haven't written in far too long.

obviously, there are some stories that I haven't given an impression on. I think there was the Little Mermaid (HAAAAAAATE, because it's SO FREAKING SAD) and then Paper Jack. Again, FREAKING SAD. de Lint certainly has a way of reaching inside someone and tearing out their heart. I think he should use his power for good instead of sadness.

Sometimes I wonder if I belong to a kind of Bridgetown, but then, friends of mine say that they view me as optimistic, so it's hard to tell. I very much enjoyed this one, though. Again, because of the theme of hope at the end.

Again, no magic, but the "simple" kind of self-change/realization. A good, if sad, story. Sad because of the darkness of the world, but happy, too, because it had hope in the end.

No magic in this one except for the magic of human kindness to another fucked up human. Which, maybe, is the rarest kind of magic of all.

Sometimes, I wonder if this kind of story is why my love life doesn't work out. Maybe the guy who's right for me doesn't exist on this side of reality. Now, I'm depressed.

I liked this, but I'm not sure I totally believed the ending. I don't want to think that someone who gives off hope and light could be ...corrupted? into being someone who destroys. Then again, I don't really care for corruption stories.

This was a good one, but, AGAIN, depressing. I don't understand the mother's reaction. Not really. Then again, I'd be quite thrilled to have an experience with Faerie. I feel sorry for the protag, and I can relate to the whole "we just weren't interested in each other" thing. Sad, though.

Okay, *that* was far more horror than anything else. Well done horror, but horror. Aaaand, I don't *like* horror. Not really.

A very bittersweet story. It's not *sad,* exactly, but it's certainly not happy, either. It was a series of endings kind of story, and I don't really like that, in my stories. And, there really wasn't a definate answer, just a promise of hope. Maybe this story is for people who are more dreamer than I.
