Why are they calling out It’s Kind of a Funny Story?

Why is it that it always takes the friend from elementary school who the main character hasn’t spoken to in year to point out obvious solutions?

I don’t get why people love to “take down” teachers who aren’t even doing anything wrong. Take down your mean teacher that talks shit about your mom to your face or your religion (I’ve had a teacher do all this and more!) but not the one who is just trying to get you to read a book and understand it so god forbid you can think above a surface level.

What smart senior who got an 800 SAT score is only taking Honors Calculus? That’s why they finish their homework within the first ten minutes (by the way, no matter which way you slice it, that’s impossible. One calc problem alone can take you thirty minutes) because no one who got an 800 should be taking anything but AP Calculus.

First thought I had when she started talking about math was, “here we go” because I’ve read enough books about math nerds and have also known enough math nerds to know that they’re insufferable. Also, there’s only so much math prose you can give me before I’ve heard it all before.
