Got to the part where Adam talk abt his time w/Vanity & Prince not liking it. In the song "The Beautiful Ones," written about Vanity, Prince sings, "Do you want him or do you want me? Cuz I want you!" Is indeed about her dating Adam during a time they were on a break. Adam: "In San Francisco in the 1983 tour, we bumped into him in the lobby of our hotel and he went apeshit at her for being with me."
