Highly readable so far, with plenty of examples if obviously dated. Peppered with snarky humor, e.g. when talking about those who say English is in decay (in 1980 mind you) he calls it ‘a pessimism which sees the use of media as a singular noun as the harbinger of the collapse of civilization’.
