A better title to this book would have been "The Contemporary Art Market: A Very Short Introduction" because it is not about art, artists, or aesthetics except insofar as they are part of larger cultural and economic forces. Sure, those forces are certainly at play, but it's also nice to know what the art is like. I'll have to find a different book for that, unfortunately.
