A fascinating and well-written account. There are humorous sections, including darkly comical moments, alongside the harrowing accounts of trauma and flesh wounds. I was interested to read the author's belief that there were higher incidences of PTSD amongst those soldiers who returned to the UK by air compared with those who returned over a longer period by boat. I wonder if the evidence really supports that.
