I thought this story sounded familiar and it was: Humbert was mentioned in And the Show Went On as being part of a very early French resistance group of people connected to the Museum of Man in Paris. She was instrumental in starting the group just to save her sanity, not because she thought they would actually make a difference. So far, her memoir paints a clear picture of the occupation -- very well-written.
