What do we think of audio books? I’ve never listen to one because I feel like I’m easily distracted. But is it considered cheating?

✨faith✨trust✨pixiedust✨ Dead Account; Not Coming Back I love audiobooks! They make it so much easier to read books while doing other things, like traveling and cleaning. I don't think it's cheating at all.

Jessica Leigh (Bookishleigh) I don't think of it as cheating. I read a ton of written books and all but sometimes I simply need to use my hands for other things like driving and chores & that's where audiobooks step in.

Iris Of course it's not cheating! I rarely listen to audiobooks, because I just prefer the feel of a print book in my hands, but audiobooks can be so helpful sometimes, such as when I'm traveling. You're still absorbing the content, so it still counts.

Iris ^^Lol reading that over, that sounds wrong... That's just in my opinion... I think it's each to their own whether to count them or not really.

Amy Leigh It's definitely not cheating in my opinion. I prefer print but my fiancé prefers audio. We read some of the same books and are able to talk about them together just the same as if we had both used the same platform.

Travis I thought the same thing as you. However I just started using audio books and I gotta say it fills a void when your doing other things. I will listen when I walk my dogs or cleaning my house. It really helps. I do set time aside to read my physical books as well. I say give it a try and if its not for you no harm no foul.

Frank-Intergalactic Bookdragon Definitely not cheating. It's still reading a book just with a different sense. And sometimes you are to busy to sit down and read a physical book. Also I think some audio book narrators enhance the experience, like right now I'm listening to The Book Thief (which if you didn't know, it's narrated by Death) and the narrator does such a good job of sounding like Death

Raven Audio books can be really good, but it also depends on the person who is reading the book. I have experienced one where the reader had a monotone voice, and it got really annoying after a while. But other then that audio books are cool. I usually listen to them if i don't have time to read a book, or Iam busy doing something, and I could just listen the story while iam doing something important. It just depends on the person, and what life you live in. My mom likes to listen to audio books in her car to and from her work, or when she's making dinner in the kitchen. It's still considered as reading a book though, so no, it wouldn't be cheating.

Sophie I don’t like them, I need the book in front of me😊

Ladychubb It isn't cheating. Your brain literally doesn't decipher the information any differently if you hear it audibly verses physically reading it. If you want some more detailed science on it check out emmabooks on youtube! She did an entire video detailing this very topic, and its great content. :)
