#amreading. I didn't quite know what to expect with Mere, but I'm so grateful it popped up in my recommendations. It speaks of theology but in layman terms, and it blends human nature philosophies into everyday life and relationships. I'm a fraction of the way through and already I want to stop and reflect on the thoughts Lewis has placed in my head.

#amreading. I never understood the concept of Time in God's way until Book 4 of Mere. My confirmation teacher referred to my way of thinking like that of Thomas of Aquinas, but his wording was too dense for me to follow. Lewis explained Time in a way that makes perfect sense and even used an author's life as a way of making sense. God's Time is out of my realm of Time, but I'm starting to piece it together.

#amreading. The third book focuses on Christian behavior and how altering our states of mind affect our relationships with ourselves, our friends and family, and God. We can't be right with others until we are right with ourselves, and we won't feel right with ourselves unless we follow God's ways of honesty, charity, love, faith, and forgiveness.

#amreading. The concepts of good and evil are subjective than I gave them credit for. What's bad for a vegetarian's beliefs aren't bad for an omnivore's belief, for example. However, when thinking about what is right and wrong, there is little room for argument.

#amreading. My brain is reeling, but in a good way. I understand more about general philosophy than I ever have but without the headache that comes from theologians.
