Kimley Don't get me wrong, I love the Sex Pistols but the essay in here on Sid makes him out to be an incredibly loathsome, cat-killing, girlfriend murdering monster. It is probably somewhat biased as the writer had a bad run-in with Sid but I suspect even with the bias, Sid wasn't the nicest of blokes.

Tosh Sid hit Nick Kent. That's not nice. For me, Sid is probably the least most interesting individual in Punk.

D. Pow Sid was a turd, a loathsome little runt who couldn't play bass to save his life. The Pistols were already falling to pieces when they hired Sid. He kicked Paul Weller in the nuts once too. A soccer hooligan dressed in punk garb.

David ...who couldn't play bass to save his life...

Isn't this kind of the point of punk rock?

Tosh Wow one would think Paul Weller would beat the shit out of him. I don't think Sid could fight anybody in a fair fight. I hate him.

Nathalie I think Weller did beat the shit out of him, Tosh... Take it from Lydon, Sid couldn't fight his way out of a crisp packet, or words to that effect.

Sid was one messed up young man, that's for sure. Add H. to the mix of general aggression and fame certainly didn't help.

Sid's short life in the (s)limelight seems prescient of the degradation that has blighted this city since the drugs and hard times got harder...
