I learned a lot about the planning, backers, workers, work, terrain, engineering, problems, and successes of this effort that for many might only be a single photograph of 2 engines facing each other, and a knowledge that many Chinese and/or Irish were used to do the brute-force work. Once the two companies were in the race to the finish and potential profits, it was really hard to put this book down.
