Excuse you kindle but I wasn't finished reading this.

So now when it finally starts to get interesting we got to have the hero's shrew of a mother wanting to compete with the heroine for that #1 spot in her son's life. Fantastic.

His words seemed to snap her composure. She let out a sharp shriek. “Are ye truly that desperate fer my dowry that ye’ll turn a blind eye to the reality of my past? Merciful heavens, ye cannae simply ignore the truth because it doesn’t suit ye, Ewan.”

Oh goody! This is one of those "No I will NOT marry you no matter how many times you ask so let me pull obnoxious stunts to turn you off" kind of stories. My favorite. 😑

When you put a book on your TBR list because you were eager for a character's HEA but when you finally get down to starting their book you can't for the life of you remember what happened to said character in the book before this.
