I picked this book for this month's TBR challenge, which is "comfort read," because I love western historical romance. I also love Christian romance if it's not preachy and has flawed characters who find God through their metamorphosis. So far, this book is exactly what I was craving. These characters are very flawed, but deserve a second chance. Their struggles seem realistic and true to the times.

I'm enjoying the characters and the story, but there are small things that don't make it as smooth as it could be. For example, plot points not clear in their resolution. It's like they stop to move on with another character in the next chapter. I need a cleaner resolution to fully enjoy a book. Also, the scripture sometimes seems disjointed from the story with quotations without verse and chapter to look them up.
