Sleep and I will not get a long well tonight.

Reading about a character hearing about someone getting flayed alive is one thing in a novel like Game of Thrones set in a made up fantasy world. It's exponentially more disturbing in a realistic, contemporary setting.

But despite the darkness, I need to keep reading.

This book is dark and full of triggers, but still fascinating. I have to read in small doses though or the violence gets too far under my skin.
