Kaneki encounters Furuta & has to fight that whack ass bastard before he can continue to the oviduct thing to eliminate the poison - and while he's dying, Furuta has this memory of when he's young & WITH RIZE - SO WERE THEY A THING A LONG TIME AGO? AND IS THAT WHAT HE WANTED? TO GO BACK TO RIZE TO HOW THINGS WERE? And Kaneki, facing off those gross creatures, finds himself face to face with Rize and must kill her.

So Renji and Uta finally come to terms with their differences; Uta wanted Ren to fight him seriously but he wouldn't until his life was threatened. Ren tells him he has people to live for, to fight for; like Kaneki & Touka & their child and they're gonna be okay.
