5 stories in part 1 were like in Interpreter of Maladies. While reading I find myself questioning life a lot, questioning deeper. I felt this way much when also reading The Thing Around Your Neck. I’m not a Bengali in America or London, but I understand better what it means to be away from home, from language and close-knits after reading these stories, not after only experiencing.
