So far, reading this book has been a great reference tool to learn what NOT to do when writing a Sci-Fi novel. For every one interesting concept there's like 10 things Carter does to suck me back out of the story.

bought this at a local used bookstore for $2 on a whim - the cover looked pretty retro and the description on the back looked tempting enough. Truly an impulse buy but I'm keeping an open mind!
