I'm working on getting this edited to send to beta-readers, and it's been bittersweet working through it again.
Why? Well, see, I've decided this will be the final book in the series. It wraps everything up well, and gives a satisfying ending. But at the same time... I've been writing these characters for nearly four years, and gone through so much with them. And now they're leaving me.
*sniffs* I love these guys.

Was there any way he could follow orders, and still not take a life?
It was a question he had been pondering since he left the War Office, and it was an answer he knew he’d be searching for until his feet once again stepped onto the shores of enemy territory.
It's bad just how much I'd forgotten about this story. And I'm loving the chance to edit it again and get reacquainted.

As soon as they left the hall, Erich spun him around. “Arnold, so help me, I’m going to kill you!” His voice came out in a hiss between his clenched teeth. “No, wait, I’m going to demote you to private, then I’m going to send you to the Russian front and put you on the front line. And if the Russians don’t get the job done, I’m going to personally take a trip there and finish you myself.”

*looks up doses of morphine for a scene* Y'all. There's a book entitled "Care of the Combat Amputee". I need it.
