I realized how vulnerable I was as a human being, not just to physical forces beyond my control, but to the exasperating fickleness and intangibility of my thoughts and feelings. How easy it was to be carried away by emotion. Just because I hungered for someone's touch. But I also knew that this was one of the indispensable qualities that made me a person - a living, feeling human being.
