Question...just out of curiosity, do any of you create your book covers (or have a strong idea of their concept) and find that it helps with your inspiration when writing or are your covers one of the last things you think about?

That depends on the book. Sometimes the cover comes later, but in some cases I have a clear vision of the cover before starting the story. Sometimes the cover artist can recreate what's in my head, sometimes they create something even better, and sometimes, as in the case of a freelance artist I use for self-pubs, he throws an amazing design my way, and I try to write a story worthy of his inspiration.

I would think the last one would be loads of fun. Especially if your artist is very much in tune with what goes on it your head.
Oh, he is. He creates outstanding covers!
