C. (Comment, never msg). Heather, I spent some time enjoying your profile last night. Fellow Canadians are my favourites. :) My comment on your reading goal is admiring praise!

I proposed various scenarios, in an effort to guess how you do it! I meant it in all seriousness, that I find the key is less TV and wondered if you read by day too. Sticking to nighttime reduces my progress. I am surprised it was misinterpreted and wanted to reassure you away from there.

A troll I dealt with last year, misinterpreted my conversations with other people negatively and butted in! She never saw herself has the person judging or indeed harrassing me. I deleted her last year.

The only one I owe clarification is you. Nothing but love from me on your profile, Canadian sister! :) I am Carolyn. (I don't use Goodreads mailboxes because they are slow on my rural internet).

Heather Thank you for the clarification, Carolyn. I do appreciate it. I grew up with a lot of people making fun of me for how much I read, acting like I must have an empty life because of it, so I tend to react very strongly to anything that sounds like that. I also appreciate you taking the conversation away from a potential flame war.

I do have a long commute, and I often listen to audiobooks while working around the house. I also read a lot of manga and comics, which are very quick reads. I'm fortunate enough to be able to read quite fast, so even though I mostly just read an hour or so a night, or skim non-fiction while watching TV, I can still get through books fairly quickly.

C. (Comment, never msg). I sent the friendship request I intended. :) Please watch for my e-mail address there and write it down. I subtly tweaked my reply at the first post. Wouldn't mind your note sounding more pleased to hear from me, of course. Turns things to a positive without addressing the harrassing person. I'll snip the rest of this when I am sure you have seen it. Trimming some today.

I was saying in my post that even at 100-150 books a year, the average person drops their jaw as if I must read all day too. I get that! I was right about a commute and although I didn't say it, I thought short reads made sense. I'm disappointed for people who don't know how to fit in a few modest books regularly. *Hug!*
