The exposition on the confusions, trials and tribulations during the reign of Ali ibn Abi Talib were quite eye-opening. It was indeed a very tumultuous time with sabotage, subterfuge and malicious actors trying to cause harm and damage.

The book is extremely long and verbose and goes into the origins of the Shia, their beliefs and concepts.
